Internet Explorer slowing down?

Recently,my IE has been very slow when loading pages and most of the time freezes for a split time while loading pages..recently,i removed some virus and a program that was popping up spam...i've ran spybot,ad-aware,avg and super antispyware....but nothing has come up...i've cleared my internet cache and i have a lot of memory left..this recently started happening....another thing i noticed was,my explorer.exe process has started to run at around 40,000+ K's...a few weeks ago when it was running fine,it was running at around 5,000 k's....so what has caused this to happen and what can i do to fix this???? thanks....btw,i'm not interested in firefox or opera or any other alternative,i just want to fix this problem.
