Spyware won't go away... running out of options...?

I have a little flashing icon on the bottom right hand side of my computer screen that continuosly bring up a notifier warning me that i have active spyware applications on my computer. Whenever i click on it I am routed to an antispyware ''solution'' site: http://spydawn.com/ Its some bogus spyware removal software, but for some reason both my spyware docotr and my spybot won't recognize it as spyware and delete it. I can't find the file in my computer anywhere that map contain it. Is it spyware, adware, malware? how do i get rid of it?

Is the problem you are having on a home machine or business machine?

If your problem is with a business machine, I would recommend using Repelit and Scrubit from itSoftware (http://itSoftwareProducts.com ). They detect spyware and viruses that products like Spysweeper, Norton, and Spy Doctor miss. Unfortunately though, they only sell to businesses.

If your problem is on a home computer, Spysweeper would probably be the next best bet for you.

Download Norton, AVG , Avast which are free antivirus software. They do protect your computer and you can keep updating them once in three days or so. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html
Go start, control panel, add/remove programs and then try to find any program starting with or having that name in the list and delete it and then restart your computer and you should have got rid of it, hopefully. Good luck.

Are you using Firefox for a browser?

I haven't had that kind of problem since I started using it. Download an add-on like adblock, right click on the offending ad and block it.
