My fiance's been having trouble with a pop-up ad on his computer that keeps on coming back up again every 13 seconds, whenever he Xs it down. Unlike most pop-ups, it's not a link to the site that it is advertising - he clicked on it and said that it did not take him to that company's site.
In terms of what security systems he has on his computer, he's got Norton/Symantec and AOL computer check-up, firewall, antivirus, and antispyware package.
What my fiance has done, to try to get rid of this pop-up, is run his Norton antivirus scan, which did not find anything and when he turned off his computer and then turned it back on again, the pop-up was still there and this problem has been plaguing him for a few days, now.
How would this particular type of a pop-up be taken care of, in terms of making it go away completely?antivirus scan
would help to know what popup, what it says. try adaware se. or spybot 1.4
