Does anyone know about the program "Virus Heat"?

It is antispyware protection? I keep getting popups to install it. It says ...System Alert! you have a number of spyware that could be causing your computer to slow down.

I have Stop Sign virus protection but this icon is showing up in my start up tray with a "x" and "?" alternating and the program virus heat connected to it to install for like $80. Can I get rid of this?

This itself is spyware. Download a real anti-spyware program and update it. There is Spyware Doctor from ther Google updater, or AVG free from http://free.grisoft.com. Scan with this and then do a virus scan, un9install any additional toolbars other than Google, Yahoo or MSN, most others are open doors to junk. Also remove any internet optimisers or search assistants, these are as bad. You will find the Google toolbar is useful, it has the best popup blocker going. After this download ccleaner.exe and use it to clean up your history and registry..

it's not an anti spyware protection, it's a scam. it loads the pop-ups and fabricated security alerts, but even if you pay for virus heat, it won't function as anti-spyware. it's a fraud to milk money.
